Today I have a hard truth to share with everyone:

Resistance training is more effective than cardio-only workouts.

It turns out that just doing cardio alone won’t help you get the body that you desire. It is true that aerobic activities like jogging, indoor cycling and dancing are great for building your cardiovascular endurance, strengthening your heart & lungs and burning extra calories. Unfortunately, without resistance training you’ll have a very hard time getting the shape, strength and leanness that you crave.

Adding resistance training alongside high-intensity cardio burns much more calories in less time than just cardio alone. After a spin bike session, your body stops burning extra calories right after you step off the bike. With resistance training, your body’s metabolism stays elevated for up to 24 hours, burning extra calories while you are sitting, watching TV, and even while you are asleep! Sounds too good to be true doesn't it?

Fortunately there is lots of research to back this:

Resistance training is the most effective way to improve strength, build your arms, tone your butt, and get that summer-ready body that draws attention & envy. Nobody truly wants a skinny-fat body, right?

Resistance training also helps with:

- Improving posture & self-esteem
- Reducing anxiety & depression
- Improving sleep and reducing insomnia
- Improving bone health & building stronger joints
- Increasing flexibility & balance
- Boosting your overall well-being & body image
- Enhancing your functioning during everyday tasks
- Preventing or controlling chronic conditions such as:
- Arthritis
- Low back pain
- Diabetes
- Heart disease
- Obesity
- Osteoporosis

So what are you waiting for? Add some resistance training into your schedule today and start getting stronger and feeling healthier!
